Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to testify as legal witnesses. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive, she has received numerous grants and has been the recipient of numerous awards both national and internationally. She has offered advice on policy and research for numerous government agencies and departments around the globe. She also serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
